August 2026 Dining up 11% Storage rerun pending Client-ready

What organic search delivered for Alder & Ash Home in August, why it moved and what we propose next. Prepared by Signal Grove Search. Figures come from the client's Search Console exports for Aug 1 to Aug 31, 2026, compared with July unless stated otherwise.

Nonbrand clicks41400+4.0%vs July, three collections
Dining22500+10.8%vs July (20,300)
Storage11200-8.2%vs July, rerun pending
Duplicate URLs removed29of 32, Sep 10 crawl

How to read these numbers

All figures in this template are synthetic sample data. The fall promotion overlapped August, so part of the dining lift may be promotional. The storage comparison is missing one Search Console dimension and is being rerun before we set storage priorities. September is partial and is not compared.

How August added up

Dining added 2,200 nonbrand clicks and small-space 400, while storage lost 1,000, taking the three collections from 39,800 in July to 41,400 in August.

Technical fixes

The Sep 3 release fixed canonicals on the dining collection. The Sep 10 crawl verified the result.

Duplicate campaign URLs removed
91%

29 of 32 duplicate URLs are gone. The 3 exceptions are documented and will be verified after the next release.

Dining brought more than half of August's nonbrand clicks. Internal links to dining, approved by Priya, went live in July.

What moved and why

Findings

Wins
  • Dining up 11%. Nonbrand clicks on the dining collection rose from 20,300 to 22,500. The fall promotion overlapped the period, so we keep that annotation in every chart.

  • Duplicate URLs cleaned up. 32 campaign URLs competed with the dining collection hub. The Sep 3 canonical release removed 29, verified by the Sep 10 crawl.

Misses
  • Storage down 8%. Storage lost 1,000 nonbrand clicks, but its comparison is missing one Search Console dimension. We do not prioritise storage work until the rerun is back.

  • Orphaned guides. The internal link module for the orphaned buying guides moved to the next release window.

Data notes
  • The Aug 24 dining dip was a data delay. The first export showed a 24% drop. A fresh export restored most of the missing data, so no emergency release was needed, and the alert rule now waits for complete data.

Storage decision waits for the rerun

Three storage guides lost qualified impressions after product and delivery terms changed. We recommend finishing the rerun with the missing dimension before setting storage priorities. Owner: Celeste Warren. Two refresh briefs are already in production using the terminology your merchandising team supplied, and we compare results on Nov 16.

Month by month

Dining has grown every month since April. Storage has eased slowly over the same period, which is why the rerun matters before anyone reads August as a sudden drop.

Recommendations for September

Proposed September priorities
Rerun the storage comparison with the missing Search Console dimension
Verify the 3 documented duplicate URL exceptions after the next release
Ship the internal link module for the orphaned guides in the next release window
Keep the promotion annotation and the two day data latency note in the September report
✓Storage refresh briefs approved with merchandising terminology

How confident we are in the dining trend:

Confidence that the dining lift holds after the promotion★★★★★3/5

Three out of five until September data is complete, because the promotion overlapped August.

Decisions for the review call

  1. Confirm the internal link module ships in the next release window.
  2. Agree whether storage refresh work waits for the rerun or starts with the two briefs in production.
  3. Confirm Nov 16 as the date we compare the refreshed storage guides.
Method and data sources
  • Clicks: Search Console exports, web search, nonbrand defined as queries excluding the brand name, grouped by collection.

  • Duplicate URLs: crawl audit of the dining collection, crawls Jun 4 to Sep 10, 2026.

  • Latency: Search Console data arrives about two days late, so the latest days of any month are incomplete.

  • Limitations: the storage comparison is missing one dimension until the rerun; the fall promotion overlapped August.
